  1. What character in the book impacted you the most? Why?

  2. Which character was most frustrating to you? Why?

  3. Read Psalm 103, paying special attention to verse 12. What does this say to us about God keeping a record of our sins in His Book of Days?

  4. Everyone, at some point, has to deal with the loss of memories that are precious to us. Do you know someone facing that struggle now? What are practical ways you can help them?

  5. Does it frighten you to think of losing some of your memories? Read Psalm 139:16. What does that say to you about memories in light of eternity?

  6. Both Cameron and Taylor Stone have to let go of their late wives to be free. Why do people hold so fast to things of the past? How can we, as followers of Christ, release what is holding us back so we can embrace the future God has for us?

  7. Taylor Stone likes Cameron from the start, but he tries to push him away because of the memories that are stirred up. What keeps us from facing and dealing with painful memories? What guidelines can we find in Scripture for not just facing these things, but releasing them to God?

  8. Have you ever had a Jason Judah in your life? How did you deal with that person? What did the situation teach you about other people? About yourself?

  9. We tend to be harder on ourselves and offer ourselves less forgiveness than others offer to us. Why do you think that is? Read Colossians 1:13-14. What does this say about this situation?

  10. Ann has to choose whether or not to be with Cameron even though his mind might slip further away and their days together might be few. What would you do in such a situation?

  11. Do you think Jessie made the right choice by trying to tell Cameron about the Book of Days and her future slowly? Or should she have told him all at once in clear language?

  12. If Jessie had told Cameron bluntly, do you think he would have believed her? Why or why not?

  13. Do you think the future is fluid, as Book of Days implies? Can we change the future by our choices, or is the future already set?

  14. Were you surprised when you found out what the Book of Days really is? Why or why not?

  15. Have you ever thought before about the idea of recording a life? What kind of life do you think you’re recording? (Eph 2:10) On a scale of 1–10, is it the life you had hoped to record?

  16. Read Matt 25:14-30. In light of this parable, spend a few moments considering what one thing you could do or change to ensure you are recording a life that delights and honors God. Share that one thing with someone close to you, asking that person to pray with you and help hold you accountable.
